Stage 1

Set Up

The 5 Stages of Success starts with SETUP, which is the foundation of building a resilient and profitable crop. BW Fusion recommends Meltdown™ to break down crop residue and kick-start mineralization — returning vital nutrients back to the soil.

Why nutrient cycling matters: Maintaining an optimal nutrient balance in the soil ensures plants have the right nutrients available right away at germination — leading to healthier plants and better yields. It can also reduce dependence on fertilizers to increase your ROI.

Stage 2

Establish

The ESTABLISH stage focuses on key processes that ensure early crop success, like the initiation of seed germination, nutrient availability, and seedling vigor, alongside crucial steps like root establishment and the early formation of plant-to-microbe associations in the rhizosphere. It also sets the foundation for hormonal balance, which is vital for the plant’s growth and productivity in later stages.

How BioBoost™ supports the seedling stage: It optimizes early plant development by enhancing your seed’s spermosphere, improving germination rates, and enhancing nutrient uptake. It also helps balance plant hormones, promote early root activation, and increase stem diameter, leading to stronger plant structure and improved health throughout the growing season.

Stage 3

Create

The CREATE stage establishes the foundation for optimal photosynthesis, ensuring the plant has the right system in place to function efficiently during rapid growth phases.

Why enhancing photosynthesis matters: Rooting only occurs because of sugar. This stage increases sugar production, supports biological activity in the rhizosphere, and positively impacts grain size and water-extractable organic carbon (WEOC) — ultimately turning the plant into a well-operated factory

Stage 4

Refuel

The REFUEL stage is critical because much of the plant’s fertility is still required during the reproductive phase. This late vegetative stage primes your crops and soil for peak profitability, focusing on root depth and size.

Why refueling matters: As sugar production, rooting development, and microbial activity slow down, essential nutrients and biological activity begin to dip. That means the crop is running out of fuel. Refueling is critical to maintaining fertility and growth during the later stages where yield is produced.

Stage 5

Move

The MOVE stage focuses on nutrient remobilization during the reproductive phase of crop growth. The aim is to drive nutrient and sugar movement, boosting weight and maximizing yield.

Why nutrients need to move up: At this stage, it’s critical to get nutrients to the top of the plant so it can keep up with sugar production (photosynthesis) to maximize yield. The better plants are at producing and remobilizing vital sugars, the better they are at overcoming stress and finishing strong.
